Creating a Memristor

Antonio linked to this story by the inventor of the memristor.  Antonio raved, but I was dubious – how interesting could a multi-year lab research project into circuits be?  Antonio was right – very interesting article.

It also does prove that in some corners of HP, there is interesting stuff going on, my personal experience notwithstanding.

Entertaining read as well. I always enjoy when someone can make technology sound interesting.

re “How interesting…?”: Tracy Kidder’s _The Soul of a New Machine_ (1981); Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winner. Data General’s b-squad risk their professional lives, fortunes, and engineering honors to beat the mighty DEC and their all-powerful VAX minicomputer.

You’re right, of course, there are lots of interesting research stories. I confess the IEEE URL made me extra-dubious.
